1) i thought we should show our confidence for the client, when you are pitching, it is very important thing is you should look more professional,but our flash for presentation did not work very well, we were all nervous during the flashing time.

2)i thought we showed too much your understanding, it is a different presentation, our taget audience is client, need more commuincation, we need be careful of the way we translate the information, don't just fill in the stuff, reflash others is more important.

3)forcus on buliding arguement step by step,don't be thread.i thought the content should focus on client's request, we should come up the benifits clearly.

4)for technical things, the PHP parts are more likely relatived the client's request, but less in the CMS part. for me, i did not do enough reasech for back up thing.

finished my flash section and the script for presentation,
The whole thing will be finished by tomorrow, I feel regret because you will not very satisfied when you learned more. I found I have not mentioned the reasrching engine in the book, also I thought I should do more about comparison the hosting and own the server. This parts I thought might not very clearly for the client. I’m really wanted to revise the book again, but this is not good for presentation; I should look more professional for my job.

During this week, I revised the technical integration chart and give some revised technical cost for finical person. Closed the technical part and finished the technical report. The rest of thing for next week is preparing the presentation. It seems everything is nearly done and relaxing time will come. But I still think the time is not enough for my research.

Eventually, I finished the report today then I can relax at weekend, so nice! The difficult thing about the report is how to combine the spiros report and mine, the writing style is too different to come together, another thing is I’m very afraid how the client’s feeling, because our report is too bald, next time I think we will show the difficult things clearly, like more chart to explain and more table to show the comparatively.

sketch the integration illustration and design suggestion

One side,I think we need a visual chart to show the client the technical support clearly, so analysis the research results, sketched the integration illustration. And discussed some detail with spiros, such as how to show the relationship between the forum and the website; where to put the searching engine in and so on.
I think I need finish it soon, then I can send it to my friends to revise another technical specification, especially for back end relationship and the bandwidth, it’s too difficult for me.

Other side, I helped yingtao to do the design part, clear up the content of the website and the forum, also give my opinion about the design detail like where should put the advertisement in. I think the design part is very important for us, because the client who might don’t know the technical thing but they might care what it looks like visually, so we must come out the idea to make the webpage looks very professional.

After doing the technical research by whole week, the main technical structure was come up, but got many leaks I need to revise. Such as I count wrong number for the hard drive, I forget Raid need 1/n for back up. Anyway, I am so happy I can see the problem now. Compare two weeks ago, I was know nothing about this part.

The things I can do better at next time are:
Give the technical cost for finical director earlier.
Exchange the idea with spiros more frequently.
Start the technical research as earlier as better.

Thought about the deliver system

Based our forum’s new function is give the user space for them upload and streaming the movies, so the deliver system is the higher request

I did the research as below:
1) ICA – I’m not quite sure about this tech, I just know it is a desk can open anywhere, user can get the data form the desk very safely, but this specialize tech seems very expansive.

2) BT- it have the security problem so I think that might gets trouble for the users, although BT have the main advantage is can reduce the bandwidth traffic, also need not a big storage server for the movies up and down loading.

3) FTP- it is very popular way to deliver the large file, the thing is user have to download the software firstly then can download the file, I don’t know weather the users can be get up set.

4) PHP – I don’t know how many cost and how long if fire a group PHP programmer to build up whole new things, but why not try?

Other thing is how are users streaming the movies? Which format of the movies I can choose?
The first idea I got is using window media player and quick time streaming tech, it seems the quick time streaming is not free, I m goanna chick it.

The personal page is including 6 sections, which are home page, profile, and blog, photo, list and film.

Home page: show the user’s simple profile fixed, other sections will be appear the latest information automatically. Also have setting and customize operation.

Profile:
User’s normal info such as name, location, age and User’s aviator something like that.
User’s forum info like ranking, points, signature and so on.
User’s forum activity info such as join date, total posts, last activity …
User’s contact info: e-mail, MSN, ICQ, homepage, message button (other’s can leave the message), buddy button (other’s can add you into their buddy group)

List:
User can choose any topic list as them like; they can create everything by themselves

Film:
Enlarge the film section for more suitable for the film forum, user’s can put their film in here.

The key thing about the personal page I thought is:
Try to show more details about user, and then others can by the sort-researching find their buddy easily.
Try to make a more comfortable environment for user, encourage their willing filling their detail and comment, not force then fill up everything before the registration.

1) Introduction (about the film festival and our website, including the contact)
2) News for festival and internal news, including the news subscribe for users can get information frequently without registration
3) Showcase for users upload and streaming on line
4) Article about interview for film maker, director, students, tutorial about the animation, DV, technical things and film)
5) On-line shop, which sell the stuff relative film, such as DVD, CD
6) Personal space for user
7) Registration can account how many users we got and give more benefits for users
8) Interactive game relative film or sponsor, which can attract more users
9) Forum, it is main part which contenting the content can got link from the website
10) Sponsor and advertisement

chosed brief and taked the role

The task for today is choosing brief.
Base on the situation of the team, most of the group mate selected the low budget, and more safety project like the Elite car. But I still get interesting on the project Film festival, because I like movies a lot, so I think that is the side product to promote the cinemas industry. SO that is the good fun for me. So I decided to vote this project.
But at the end the situation is 3 Vs 3.how to judge that. Then a coin has the decision. The final result is we selected the Film festival brief.
Then base on the interesting field of each person, we separate the role as well.
Spiros and me doing the Technical part
Sean is the project manager.
Yingtao doing the design part.
Pei-chi and Eric both are doing the marketing and the finance part.
So the task at the moment is research research and research. Next week bring back the large amount of information. See how is the brainstorm we can get the concept!

think about brief

We discussed which brief we goanna take. After I compared each brief several times, I’d like think about the film festival and the elite car more. Because es brief is more clear, in other words, it likes a guide, show you how to do the project step by step,i think it is safer than film one. the fesitval one is too open, actully i'm not very sure about this, but i think it is more callenage for us,offer us more space for creation,i think we might learn more from the film one. anyway, it is just my opinion, choose which one is by everyone, we goanna disscuess more . the first step is every important,i don't want to see anyone don't like their brief.

The new project brief did not publish yet. It is different from the last few projects, we have the opportunity to choose our teammates.It is hard in some way, the last project group mate Spiros ask to form a group with me, then sean, Eric, Pei-chi and yingtao join us. Our group is founded!
